In November 2022, an original competition gripped the Trackmania community, showcasing a particularly daunting map: « Deep Dip ». This Trial track consisted of an immense 14-story tower, each level more challenging than the last, with no checkpoints until the finish line at the very top.
It took over 40 hours for the first player, Bren, a Trackmania professional, to scale Deep Dip and cross the finish line, all while broadcasting live on Twitch.
At the time, this competition sparked a real frenzy within the Trackmania community.
Most streamers and players embarked on this unique experience in the hope of being the first to conquer Deep Dip and win the €1,000 prize. In the 6 days leading up to the first finisher, the audience for Trackmania on Twitch skyrocketed.
Deep Dip 2: Trackmania's Most Difficult New Map
After an interminable wait of a year and a half, the organizer has finally announced the highly anticipated release of «Deep Dip 2», scheduled for Friday, May 3, 2024, at 8:00 PM. After months of hard work to refine this new tower, this time it will feature 16 levels designed by various mappers.
According to the latest information available, Deep Dip 2 is said to be twice as difficult to complete as its first edition. As for the prize pool, the organizers have implemented a participatory cashprize system, currently estimated at $32,592 as of the update this of this article.
Who Will Be the First to Finish Deep Dip 2?
With palpable anticipation from Trackmania players and streamers, and given the enormous hype surrounding the event, it is expected that there will be many more participants than for the first map.
The presence of Frenchman Brendan "Bren" Seve, announced as a participant, naturally positions him as the favorite for the competition.
However, there are also many outsiders to watch out for, such as Hazard, Skandear, Lars, Spam, Scrapie, Mudda, and Wirtual, who finished in second place in 2022.
Moreover, each participant will be required to stream their attempt to validate the completion of Deep Dip 2 and thus be eligible for the cash prize. This means that fans will be able to follow the event in its entirety on Twitch, with the possibility of watching the players' different attempts live.
